According, the Development Control Wing of Raj performs a number of responsibilities and activities. these are as follows:

At present the territorial jurisdiction of Rajuk has been divided into eight zones comprising 590 sq mile area to ensure service at doorstep of the citizens. For this purpose 26 separate Building Construction Committee (BC) has already been formed. Each committee comprises 5 (Five) members. Members of B. C. committee are nominated from Public Works Department (PWD), Department of Architecture (DA) and Rajuk. Each committee is chaired by one of the member of Rajuk equivalent to Joint secretary of Government.

In 2012-2013 about 2800 building drawings were received by the different B’ C committee for, approval and after checking about 2700 drawings are given approval by the B. C committee. Besides, 100 plans were rejected due to submission of faulty drawing. List -of approved plan published in the Rajuk web site on regular basis. Rajuk authorized officers are frequently filing cases against owners of unapproved buildings. In the FY 2012-13 about 100 illegal structures have been removed and the activity is going on.

In 2012-2013 FY Large and Specialized project approval committee has approved 200 projects out of 240 submitted projects. The committee rejected 40 projects due to faulty information and drawing.
As per the legitimate role mentioned in Real Estate Development and management act, 2010 and Real Estate Development and-management rules, 2011, development control wing of Rajuk has so far registered 250 building developer companies.

Responsibilities of D. C. Wing
1. Development Control wing of Rajuk is entrusted to regulate building construction activities, enactment of rules and regulations, subsequent revision and amendment of rules and regulations regarding building construction
2. The wing is authorized to approve building plans as per instruction mentioned in Greater Dhaka Building (Construction, Development, Preservation and Demolition) Rules, 2008 after issuing of Land use clearance given by the Town planning/Estate wing.
3. Demolition activities of unauthorized structure and deviated portion of authorized structure conducted through mobile court and eviction
4. To conduct registration of developer companies as per ‘Real Estate Development and Management act, 2010′ and subsequent Real Estate Development and Management rules, 2011’
5. Notification to the owner of unauthorized buildings and construction work deviated from approved plans
6. To conduct legitimate role of providing clearance for Large and Specialized Projects.
7. Preparation of agenda for presentation in the Nagar Unnayan Committee headed by Secretary of Housing and public works.
8. To provide official secretarial services to the Rajuk Appellate Sub,-Committee headed by-Chairman, RAJUK.

v) Private Housing Land Development Rules, 2004 (Amended 2012)
