Shushilan is a National non government organization, started its intervention in 1991 in the southwest part of Bangladesh. Therefore, coastal zone & Shushilan is associated with each other. In the journey on August 2007 NGO Foundation developed partnership with Shushilan to support in climate change friendly agricultural product & upgrade the skill of farmers accordingly. As major impacts of climate change negatively impacted in Bangladesh in many ways like high water level of sea, overflow of embankments, Intrusion of saline water in upstream, increasing water logging, scarcity for availability of freshwater, a threat for the forest increased suffering of people’s lives & livelihood. Along with this disaster created propound impact of the peoples and areas.

On the other hand, day by day demand on food quantity is increasing and also population is increasing, therefore, food is required but scarcity of food is normal phenomena of this area. In rural areas, 66 percent of the labor force makes their living in farming and the vast majority of the farmers (81 percent). Scarcity of farming is insufficient to meet the food needs of four to five-members’ households.

In such situation, Shushilan and NGO Foundation partnership provided training more than 1000 persons’ on agricultural and IGA. Based on the training the farmers have increased their skill and production has increased significantly. They are able to manage their farm including insect management, Hybrid seeds, seed preservation and product appropriately. Resulting, production and income have been increased. They are able to manage nutrition food, improved livelihood which is contributing to reduce poverty. The benefited results of the farmer encourage other to introduce modern technology in farming. As a result whole community is benefited in terms of production, income, improved livelihood and decent life. The picture drama played a significant role to pass message on agricultural production and its related message including fertilizer and soil nutrition. Shushilan is happy that NGO Foundation organized different NGO staff training through Shushilan. In this regards, 275 staff received training on Account Management on the way to ensuring transparency and accountability.

Here we should mentioned that one person or one NGO can’t do lots but together with others like NGO Foundation enormous development has been observed in southwest coastal region of Bangladesh which is learning for of all us.
