Boycott is not the solution.

The tripartite partners (government, employers and workers) on Saturday announced a package of short and mid-term action plan to improve the workplace condition and safety of the workers in readymade garment sector.

Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo, deputy director general of International Labour Organisation (ILO), who was present at a press conference at the foreign ministry in Dhaka, called for political commitment and immediate action to implement the tripartite partners’ decisions.

He hoped the international brands would continue to do their business with Bangladesh and would not boycott Bangladeshi garments.

Boycott is not the solution, he added.
