The only BAPEX self financed ‘Construction of BAPEX Bhaban Project’ was approved by the Energy and Mineral Resource Division on 9 September, 2008 with the objective of constructing the HeadOfficeBuilding for BAPEX at Plot # 4 of Kawranbazar C/A, Dhaka. The DPP cost of the project for construction of a 13-storied building having 20 storied foundation is Tk.56.60 crore. As per the DPP, the project implementation period is July’2008 to June, 2012 which has been extended up to June, 2013. M/s. Modern Engineers, Planners & Consultants Ltd. has been working as consultant of the project.

The Construction work of the building started on 8 March, 2009. The foundation and the RCC Structure, internal & external brickwork, plaster work, tiles work, plumbing & sanitary works were already completed. The finishing works on different floors are under way. By this time, three different contracts have been signed for supply & installation of 4 Passenger Lifts, 1 Sub-station 1250KVA & 2 Gas Generators 325 KVA with BBT System and a 20 KW Solar Power System for BAPEX Bhaban. The end of February, 2013 has been fixed for completion of construction of BAPEX Bhaban. The total financial progress of the project up to the end of FY 2011-2012 is Tk. 28.30 crore, equivalent to 50% of the total estimated project cost.
